About Liatris- Cultivation
 
Grow in full sun in well-drained soil with average moisture. Plant in the perennial border, native plant garden, cut flower garden, prairie or wildflower meadow.Height 24-36 inches. Spread 12-18 inches. Start seed in good potting mix and transplant outside when large enough to handle.

Liatris aspera. Tall stalks of rounded, fluffy, deep rosy purple flowers bloom in September. Most of the flowers open at the same time making it a good cut flower. Butterflies love the nectar. This is one of the last Liatris species to bloom. Untreated seeds.
